ECMO Experts Comprehensive Made Easy course

ECMO-in-Egypt-Course-ECCCP.

ECMO Experts Comprehensive Made Easy course took place at the Critical Care Department, Kasr Al Ainy , Cairo University from 9 till 11 November, 2023 followed by a cannulation Course on 12 November, 2023.

The three days featured lectures and skill stations delivered by the ECMO Unit of the Critical Care Department Cairo University and was directed by Professor Akram Abdel Bary, Professor of Critical Care Medicine, Cairo University 

The course is an  ELSO endorsed course which is required for step 1 and step 2 ELSO specialist certification .

The course was also endorsed by the Egyptian ECMO Working Group (A division of the Egyptian College of Critical care Physicians – ECCCP)

Lectures of the ECMO Session at the Critical Care Summit 2022

One of the successful sessions of the Egyptian Critical Care Summit held in March 2022 was the ECMO session which featured the following lectures:

  • Outcomes of COVID-19 Patients with Prolonged VV-ECMO, Dr A. Combes, France
  • ECMO Support for Surgical Patients , Dr Federico Pappalardo, Italy
  • ECPR: Past, Present & Future, Dr Jan Bělohlávek, Czech Republic



The session was presided by Professor Alia Abdel Fattah , Chairman of the Egyptian ECMO Working Group – An association affiliated with the Egyptian College of Critical Care Physicians ( ECCCP)

Great Success for the Egyptian Critical Care Summit 2022

Egyptian Critical care Summit 2022Attended by more than 400 participants , the Summit which took place at Cairo, Egypt from 29 till 31 March, 2022 witnessed lectures covering a wide array of critical care medicine topics.

The Summit hosted Dr Sandra Kane Gill President SCCM who delivered Dr Max Weil Memorial lecture and also contributed in the Clinical Pharmacy Symposium which was organized along the summit.

Several virtual faculty contributed in the scientific program including Drs; P. Verlas, Lluis Blanch, Paolo Pelosi, Alain Combes, Tamer Abdel Hak, R Ferrer, Manuel Quintana, Peter Papadakos and Federico Pappalardo

The Egyptian Critical Care Summit 2022 was organized in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Critical care Center, Cairo University which was inaugurated in March 1982 by its founder Professor Sherif Mokhtar, Professor of Cardiology and Critical care Medicine and President of the Egyptian College of Critical care Physicians (ECCCP) . The Summit was presided by Professor Alia Abdel Fattah , Professor of Critical care Medicine and chairman of the Egyptian ECMO Working Group.

The Egyptian Italian Symposium on Critical Care Medicine

 

The Egyptian Italian Symposium on Critical Care Medicine presided by Professor Sherif Mokhtar, President of ECCCP took place on 16 December, 2021 at the Grand Nile Tower Hotel ( Hyatt) , Cairo, Egypt.

The symposium hosted ECCCP board of directors as well as several eminent clinicians from the critical care and pulmonary medicine specialties who reviewed and discussed the presentations provided by the Italian guest faculty .

The symposium included the participation of Egyptian ECMO Working Group and Pulmonary Critical care Medicine Working Group. 

The program included the following lectures:
