It gives me a great pleasure to invite you to the First Egyptian Spanish Critical Care Symposium to be held on May 11 th, 2023 at the Learning Resource Center, Kasr Al Ainy. The symposium is co-organized in collaboration with the Spanish Intensive Care Society SEMICYUC and will host the following eminent faculty from Spain including Dr Blanch , Dr Ferrer and Dr Sipmann.

Dr-Pesenti-Critical-care-EgyptLecture presented by Dr Antonio Pesenti at the Second Egyptian Italian Critical Care Symposium held at Cairo Egypt .

Professor Antonio Pesenti is Professor of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University of Milan, Italy.
He achieved his medical qualification and board certificate in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine from the University of Milan, cum laude.
After two years (1977-1979) spent as a Visiting Fellow at the NIH (USA) in the Section of Cardiac and Pulmonary Assist Devices, under the direction of Professor T. Kolobow, he came back to Italy subsequently becoming Assistant Professor.
He is the author and/or editor of numerous textbooks and of more than 400 published scientific and educational articles. He is one of the most distinguished researchers in the field of respiratory failure, mechanical ventilation and extra corporeal membrane oxygenation.

His research has always been focused on understanding the pulmonary physiology and management of acute respiratory failure, with an emphasis on mechanical ventilation, ARDS imaging and ECMO.

Attended by key Critical care specialists from Egyptian Universities , the second Egyptian Italian Critical care Symposium took place on 29 December , 2022 at the Learning Resource Center , Kasr Al Ainy , Cairo University .

The symposium is organized by ECCCP in continuation of the Egyptian Italian  Critical Care series organized in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Opera Aida last year.

The symposium featured a lecture from Ms Laila Ibrahim from Cairo Opera house highlighting the history of Opera Aida.

The course was delivered by Dr Mohamed Amin , Cairo University and Dr Abdel Rahman Abo Shady from Menoufia University .

The course is accredited by the American Association for Respiratory Care ( AARC) .

The inaugural edition of the Neurocritical Care Course was conducted on 8 and 9 December 2022 at the Learning Resource Center , Kasr Al Ainy, Cairo University.

The course covered several areas in Neuro critical care science and practice and was delivered by ECCCP faculty together with a panel of eminent experts in the field.

Instructors of the course were: 

Dr Mohamed Amin, Dr Ahmed Al Wazeer, Dr Abdelrhman Aboshady, Dr Mohamed Badr, Dr Walid Kamel ,Dr Ola Saeed and Dr Hisham Nafea.

 Dr-Paolo-Pelosi-Critical-care-Egypt-Respiratory-CareLecture presented by Dr Paolo Pelosi at the Egyptian Critical Care Summit 2022 .

Dr Pelosi is currently Chief Professor in Anesthesia and Intensive Care and Director of the Specialty School in Anesthesiology at the University of Genoa as well as Head of the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit at the IRCCS San Martino-IST Hospital, Genoa, Italy. His activity has been always directed both to the clinical and research field.
The main research interests of Prof. Pelosi have been directed to respiratory physiology during anesthesia and respiratory failure. Prof. Pelosi developed several collaborations with highly scientifically reputed groups in European and Extra-European countries, for research in the field of mechanical ventilation and sepsis in experimental and clinical settings.

Dr Pelosi has participated in the Egyptian Italian Symposium on Critical care Medicine held in December 2021. His lecture was COVID-19 Pneumonia is not a traditional ARDS
